You guys are a riot  Laughing I have done goofy things for ages, I thought it was because I am a mother to small children... I mainly sub words for other words... like--

"Go wash your teeth" when I meant hands...
"Go put away your shoes" when we're leaving the house and I meant toys...

My 4yo just looks at me like "mom, you're insane..." and I normally figure it out...  Laughing

I've got another one:

My husband took the pipe out from under the sink for repairs and took it with him to the hardware store and told me in no uncertain terms, "Do not use the kitchen sink."

I forgot-------then proceeded to leave the water running and went to put a load in the dishwasher.  <y husband returned and opened the front door and was swept out onto the driveway from the deluge.

He tends to follow me around a lot lately.  ???????

See what I mean, I meant the washing machine not the dishwasher.

I have known people for years, but have no idea what their names are most of the time. My worse memory lapse, was about 4 weeks after my husband I had become engaged. We were at a large function, and I ran into someone I had known casually for a while.  I introduced my now husband as " this is my fiance , Ken,  now what is your last name?"  Virginia

One morning I sprinkled instant coffee on my cereal.  But I don't know if I can really blame it on fatigue.  Probably just normal spaceyness.

Not spaciness, not old age....just pure fatigue!  Plus, you like coffee flavored milk.  Did you go to Marias for the Kibbles n Bits?  I heard she was serving PUPeroni as an appetizer!

JLA930...glad the mental picture didn't fully develop!

Mrs. RVW:

No, I did not serve the PUPeroni to the family, but the dog is still trying to figure out why his dinner was so much better than than usual that night and why is he back to dry food.

I'm still trying to figure out what a guy I had never seen before in my life was doing in MY car.

BTW, NEVER keep your tube of handcream and toothpaste in the same drawer.

Putting the remote control in the fridge. Then spending hours looking for it.
Driving home from work and passing my house, then get lost and spend an hour finding my way back.
Wearing 2 different shoes to work.
Running late for work, grab my shoes (I'll put them on when I get there) just to find out that I grabbed 2 left shoes.
Put the lit end of my cigerette in my mouth. Kids do not try that at home.
Tryed to get in my neighbors house with my house key, just to have him point me in the right direction. Part 1.
Tryed to get in my neighbors house, again, usuccesfully, I was so mad I went on the back porch and fell asleep in his lawn chair. He woke me up at about 3 am and helped me to my front door. The snoring woke him up.

I could go on for days.

Paying for my food at one window at McDonalds.....driving right past the next window and going home without it. Felt too stupid to go back for it, so went somewhere else and bought more.  Fell asleep at the drive thru at the bank once.  Woke up at 3 AM and of course bank was closed.  Surprised I didn't get arrested.  Went to a wedding on the wrong day and sat through somebody elses wedding and even brought them a gift, and had never heard of them.  Sent kid to camp on the wrong bus.  She called from some little town in the middle of nowhere.  She was 12.  Made a pie.....cracked the egg, threw egg in trash and shell into pie.  Put chocolate syrup on a hamburger.  Served a little kid at my restaurant Gravy base (which isn't very good) instead of the chocolate pudding he was supposed to get.  In my defense it does kind of look alike.  Just let me know if you want some more " Stupid Karen tricks" like the girls that work for me call it.

Yup. Well I hope so anyways. I would hate to think I was that stupid.

My neighbors house thing was happening when I was working 80+ hours a week, and not sleeping on top of that. I am so glad he is a cool old man. I think he looked forward to watching me do stupid things.

Anybody here ever fell asleep on the toilet? That sucks. Pins and needles for a half  hour.

The reason I went for a sleep study was because I was falling asleep sitting up on the side of the bed.  I woke up so sore, and pins and needles everywhere, that I was in tears.  Hubby told me " You are going to the doctor TODAY.  Some nights I think I sat there for hours.  Talk about pain.

I have done the same thing. I've even fell over a few times. That, my friend, is a rude awakening. It's not the fall that hurts, it's that sudden stop that really does it.
