Post New to newsgroup just need a bit of help.
Hi guys, I was concerned about waking up with headaches and did some looking around on the web. I knew that I can sound like a chainsaw while sleeping but never thought it could be connected with headaches and still feeling tired when waking. I took the test that you have posted and answered yes to most of the questions.
I guess my questions is what do I do next? My wife says she would love to have a nice quiet night of sleep and I would like to feel refreshed and wake up without a headache.
any help would be great!

Thanks

Jim

Jim,

The next step is talking to your doc.  Print out the snore score, or have your wife come in with you.  You will need a sleep study to make sure that your only issue is sleep apnea, and once that is done, you will need to be treated.  The first step is recognizing the problem, and you have done that, now you need to work on getting treated.  Please ask questions, and feel free to look for guidance here, all of us on treatment have been where you are now, and most of us are glad we got there.

If you need help finding a doc, let us know.

Regards,

Mike

get your wife to tape record you snoring heavily and take it along to play to doc, any choking, gagging or breath holding in your sleep is of special interest, although with apnea, there doesnt always beed to be long periods with no breathing

Definitely go see your doctor and request a sleep study.  I was in total denial about sleep apnea until I was put on CPAP and woke up with no headache for the first time in years!  It's such a relief to feel normal. Keep us posted on your progress.
