I guess I am not the only one who "had" problems with leaks. I am a new cpap user (July '05) and had all sorts of problems with air leaking around the eyes for the first couple of months. My Doc. sugested I try the nasal system which lasted about 20min into my first night before I went into a rage and distroyed it. (I still find small bits of rubber scattered about the bedroom-LOL). This desperate rage for relief turned out to be a blessing of sorts.
That evening I went to work on a design for my nasal mask that would put and end to my leaky problem.
The mask I use is a FlexiFit 407a by Fisher&Paykel. The problem was/is the foam insert which I suspected was invented by a "non" user...I could be wrong but thats my guess. So it was up to me to find a solution. I have done just that and I now can dance, stand on my head and play hockey in my bed if I wanted to and the thing keeps a perfect seal all the time and at least 5 times the comfort than the way it comes out of the box. I would love to share this idea with everyone but I have no clue how to go about getting a patent and/or selling my idea to the company.
Any advise? Thanks
