Post YIKES ! Data card stuck in wrong slot--seriously !
Well, this should at least give some folks a good chuckle.  Went to insert data card (ResMed S8 Elite II) and managed to miss the correct slot. Card went in----ALL the way in----where it is apparently stuck for all eternity.  I am absolutely certain this has never happened to anyone else, so I don't hold out hope for another user to chime in with a quick fix.

I have an appt. with DME today anyway, to check into an issue with H4i humidifier.  So I'll find out soon enough whether the card can even be retrieved.  Maybe it just hangs around in there, doing nothing, and I get a replacement card ?

I never expected my first post to be so goofy (surely there's a prize for this ?).

After only 30 days with my nose-hose, I had been pretty content with my experience so far and so had not felt a need to register/post.  Now that I've done so, though, I'll try to chime in when I can answer a question.  Many thanks to all of you who keep this community going, with your wisdom, experience and support.

Now if I can just find my tweezers........

I have to admit. That is a first that I've read on any of the apnea support forums. Maybe your Elite II is a hermaphrodite???

Good luck to you,

Edited to add: p.s. It worked after I pulled it out )

I stuck a deposit envelope into the wrong slot of an ATM one time, luckily it was at the credit union and there was somebody there who could open the machine and fish my deposit out of the innards of the machine.

You could try to fish it out.  Its edge  is probably stuck on something, so figure our which edge is sticking and place something in there to make it slide freely out, like a toothpick or flat piece of thin wood.  Then take some tweezers or needle nose pliers and try to grab it.

Hi, All......

I did get the data card unstuck.  Tweezers that I had on hand were wrong shape, size.....so I resorted to mild shaking. That part was scary since I was worried about damage to the machine. I was imagining a scenario where I take the thing back to DME, complaining that it's not working  Shocked and having the technician say "holy cow, the innards of this machine look as though someone has been shaking it ! "  And me, looking all innocent.

Anyway, no damage done either to the card or the machine. Whew !

Sorry for delay in reporting back on my temporary dilemma-----hope no one <<lost any sleep>> over it.   Wink
