Post BiPAP stop itself 7 times last night, why?
Just checked my data, my BiPAP stopped itself 7 times last night. for 10~20 minutes each.

I haven't waken up for the whole night, and I am pretty sure I don't sleep walk.

So what could be the cause?

In the dim recesses of my mind (I have a Resmed), isn't there something about a full face mask and the exhalation port and ..... I'll shut up, someone here has a Respironics and will know the answer.

I discovered one night that my Respironcs Bipap was shutting itself off and then back on (had this with a Respironics also).  Took it in and got a replacement.  Have no idea how long that was going on, just happened to be awake when it started doing it that night.  But, I figure that is why I was starting to feel worse instead of better.  I'd suggest taking it in for a replacement (if it is still under warranty) or at least to be checked out.  Since mine was non-data capable (per order of my sleep dr. who doesn't think the data is accurate), I don't know how many nights that had gone on.

Personally, I would DUMP any sleep doctor who SPECIFICALLY ordered an non-data capable CPAP so fast his head would be spinning. His ego would NOT be compatable w/my personality AT ALL. We would clash BIG TIME! I would be the last to claim that xPAP data is more accurate or even as accurate as a full thorough in-lab PSG adminstered by a good RPSGT - but a PSG is a reflection of only one night's sleep - in a strange environment. The fully data capable xPAPs provide a TREND in sleep data that any GOOD sleep doctor SHOULD pay attention to and take advantage of. Who the heck wants to pay the prices these sleep prima donnas charge for them to adjust our therapy "by guess and by gosh"??? Not me! Let him PRACTICE his sleep "medicine" on some patient patient. I am NOT a patient patient! And I don't tolerate a closed-minded fool for a doctor.
