Its a great device. My first CPAP was its forerunner, the Resmed S8 Elite w/EPR and the H3i humidifier. The Resmeds are the leaders in ease of access to and the amount of data available via the LCD screen. You can also shop around and while it can be difficult to find you can buy the ResScan v.3.7 software and necessary proprietary cable reader for even more data.

The Resmeds are EASY to set up and EASY to use. They travel well. None of the manufacturers allow for patients to set their own pressure by FDA regulation. But - like everything else a determined and innovative patient can find the answers on the internet.

Why do you feel it is necessary to set your own pressure?

I use the ResMed S8 Elite.  I am completely satisfied with it.  With a little help from my friends here I find it very user friendly.

When I got mine earlier this week, the RT told me the EPR menu item was enabled - but when I tried it when I got home, it wasn't.  (I know, I should have verified when I was in the office.)  It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to get into the Clinical menu, without the Internet.  I have an alarm clock that's more complicated Shocked

Now I can set the EPR level and see my daily results.  But I can't figure out if I should be able to see my AHI in the daily "patient accessible data"?  I know I can get it off the card, but wondering if I can get it daily until I get over that hurdle.

I'm really liking mine.  It's really quiet compared to my oxygen concentrator!

I believe it is called SmartData in the Clinicians Menu to turn on the advanced/detailed patient menu w/the Efficacy data.

BE VERY CAREFUL that you haven't accidentally changed your therapy settings whilst exploring the Clinicians Menu!!!! IF someone INSISTS on entering the Clinicians Menu I always STRONGLY suggest that the FIRST time thru have a pen and paper handy and write down what appears in EACH screen BEFORE moving to the next screen.

By the way, where did you buy your Contec CMS 50E recording wrist oximeter??? I have the SPO 7500 but its pricier than when I bought mine and I have a friend who wants/needs a recording oximeter (she also has COPD) and I've seen the CMS 50E considerably cheaper than the current SPO 7500 but I've heard some complaints about DH Medical so am reluctant to refer her there.

Perhaps it would be best to reply about the CMS 50E via PM.

Yep, I enabled the ability to view the SmartData, unfortunately it doesn't appear to display any AHI.  Hmmm, I'll have to check on one thing that I'm not sure what it is...

Don't worry, I was very careful, and fortunately it requires at least two explicit keystrokes to make any change effective.

Will send you a PM.
