Mine is a RemStar Pro M series cpap with Cflex and it does vary in sound on inhale and exhale. Matter of fact, sometimes it has a slight whistle on inhale which drives me CRAZY and I'm not able to isolate the problem and fix it. Last night I turned the Cflex down to 2 from 3(which is highest setting) and I swear it was much better. I'm not sure but I think I slept in the same position all night. No disturbances or anything. I think I'm going to leave it on 2. Only problem is my shoulder is sore from sleeping on my right side all night. But the sound was more level too.
Thanks, that makes me feel much better. I have so much white noise in my bedroom that I had never really heard the thing until the otherday when I had the mask on and the machine running witout noise.
I can see why the sound drives some people crazy
