Post change from nasal to pillows-does machine need reset?
After complaining that I just couldn't get the leaks to stop with my nasal mask - very irritating because they wake me up so what's the point - my sleep tech gave me an LT Swift to try.

I forgot to ask her whether the CPAP machine has to be reset. I''m supposed to start it tonight. I hope I won't screw things up by not changing settings on the machine if you're supposed to. Does anyone know if you're supposed to?

BTW, my sleep tech gave me the comfort fusion mask and then today said, "I don't like those masks. They're too long."  (Whahh?)

Post answer: no reset apparently needed
well, I never got an answer to the question of whether the machine needs any reset when changing a mask: apparently it doesn't but you should make sure the mask is listed as compatible with the machine.

If this is wrong, let me know. I just want to close the discussion and make sure any newbies get the info they need.

The CPAP/APAP machines don't care what sort of mask you are using and you don't have to do anything when you change masks.  ResMed machines have a leak rate calculator setting that may need to be changed if you use the leak rate calculator (this is specific to ResMed).  Some of the bilevel machines say to use or not use specific masks, but these are somewhat uncommon.
