Post Newbie here needs help and or advice
I have a VPAP ADAPT SV machine. I started using the Mirage Vista mask in the beginning but the head gear is way to stiff and hurt me when aI tried to sleep on my side. I switched to the Mirage Activa mask which is a bit more comfy in the headgear department....I was told they do  not have the nose pillows for this machine which I had during my test and found quite comfy. After I took these apart and washed them they leak air so bad my hubby said he is gonna take up residence in the spare room. He said it is now louder than before. After using these they seem pretty flimsy now. How long are these suppose to last? I still have the rental machine right now as I was just diagnosed in July with apnea. Evidently I have the worst type of sleep apnea where I still quit breathing in a regular machine. I did have to go for 2 nights to get this diagnosed. I originally stopped 82 x an hour and now am down to 12. He is still not real happy with that but an wondering if the mask is leaking too much air.

Thanks for all your help..

It sounds quite like you've not put the Activa back together correctly after cleaning it. The Activa now has two different cushions, there is the regular cushion and there is now a gel cushion and both are interchangeable on the same "frame". This was not true w/the older model Activa, but is w/the newer ones.

I don't know how long you have had the mask, but I do think after so many "hot" washing that it can change the flexibility of the rubber/plastic.  If it is too old you may need to replace the mask.  Otherwise Crohnie may be right, you may not have put it back together exactly right.  I use warm soapy water.  I was told vinegar is good once in awhile if you don't use distilled water as it will get rid of hard water build up in the humidifier.  Others vinegar will also dry the rubber/plastic of your mask.
