Post What do these numbers mean??
Just got done with a week using the cpap. Here are some numbers I got off the cpap not sure what that mean.

Avg hrs/night   7:34

13.2 cm/h20

system leak l/m 47.4

apn-hyp index ahi 1.3

Going back in for the sleep study with the mask tomarrow. Only had the cpap for a week because it took 2 weeks just to get it. I can sleep pretty good with it so I kept the apointment I made after the first study. Had some trouble with leaks but the last few nights were much better. I still don't feel reasted in the morning.

Thanks

Well, the first is obvious, you've averaged using your CPAP 7 and a 1/2 hours each night at a pressure of 13.2. You had some leak but not knowing the allowed vent rate for your mask at your average pressure we can't say whether your Leak rate was excessive or not. Your apnea/hypopnea index was good, about 1.3 "events" per hour. Less than 5 per hour (AHI less than 5.0) was good. For only a week on CPAP it sure looks like you're taking to CPAP therapy like a duck to water! Many of us don't do anywhere near that good after a MONTH on CPAP therapy!!! Congratulations. You have some "sleep debt" to make up yet so be a little patient, give CPAP a little more time to work its "magic". You didn't get this tired and run down in just one week.

Sounds good. It took a lot less time to get used to it then I thought. My first study came back at 88 events per hour and they were worried that my blood oxegen was going below 60. I am going to get all the numbers from my first test when I go tomarrow. So it sounds like it is doing the job. Where would I find the vent rate for the Quattro by resmed?

Thanks

Hopefully, you didn't throw away the literature that came w/your Quattro. There's a table chart w/the allowed vent rate in L/M (litres per minute) along the left side and the various CPAP pressures along the bottom and a graph line to indicate the allowed vent rate at each of the listed pressures somewhere in the booklet or literature.
