Post Resmed Activa Nasal Mask - New User
Just got the Resmed Activa Nasal Mask.

My mask expands when I exhale.  Is it supposed to do that?  Or is the active cell supposed to remain the same size.

I am not sure if I have it too loose?

It's supposed to do that.

A poster once wrote that the Activa was like having a "lovesick octupus doing pushups on your face."  Rather apt description.   Laughing

It's absolutely the best mask in the "nasal mask" (covers the nose) category, imho, for being very leakproof no matter how much of a toss 'n' turn sleeper a person is.  Being able to wear the straps very, very loose with the Activa is a comfortable plus!

I prefer nasal pillows interfaces, myself, but occasionally I use my Activa just for a change.  Very well designed cushion.

Yes, it does expand etc.

Probably one of the best, or best nasal mask about at present (unless anyone thinks otherwise  Laughing ). Particularly good for those who move about a bit while sleeping.

Daniel.

Snorer,

Rested Gal and Daniel are right, the mask will move. It will jump up and down when you are breathing. You'll probably get used to it and not even notice it, like my husband did. The reason it does this is because of the way the cushion is made. It is made to flex with you so if you sleep on your side and your face is up against the pillow, the mask won't break its seal from your face and cause a leak. Remember not to tighten your headgear too much or it will crush the cushion and that will cause leaks. Good luck!
