Post Exhaust vents blow too much air on my face - can't sleep!!
Hi!  I am having an awful time trying to get to sleep with the exhaust air blowing on my face.  No matter where I turn the hose - it still blows into my eyes (even tho they are closed - it really bothers me).   I use a Resperonics Nasal Profile Lite gel mask.
Help!! d'oh!

Thanks and Happy New Year!
Bridget

Hi all!   My mistake - my husband took a look at it last night and found that the fitting was turned the wrong way - he turned it back around and I had my first full night of sleeping last night!

Nothing beats a quick easy fix!  CPAP is sure great when all is working well.

Hi Bridget,

I'm glad you got fixed up!! I read your post yesterday, but I couldn't reply because I'd never heard of that, so didn't know how to help. This forum is really great for learning eh? Sweet Dreams

If the vent air is bothersome, one CPAP site recommends using a strip of porous foam air filter over the vent hole to diffuse the air.  They suggest a strip 1/2" wide and about 1 to 1 1/4" long taped over the vent hole.  The foam is slightly arched over the hole itself so that air can exhaust out the sides.  Since the main force of the air is into the foam it acts as a diffuser to eliminate air venting on a bed partner.

Post I LOVE this website!
Hi!  Thank you all for the replys and the information.  This is one of the best forums especially for a condition that you can not get a lot of information out of your doctor about.  I will try the foam since it is still blowing a bit on my face.

Thanks again!

What fitting is turned the wrong way?  I have the same mask and the same problem with the air blowing too much air in my face.  It is most frustrating.
