This is for all of you who use the Activa and love it . . .
I just got my Activa last Friday and was really looking forward to the freedom of movement that seems to be the Activa's hallmark.
I seem to spend a considerable amount of time every night getting my mask adjusted with air pressure . . . when I first put it on (with the same settings as the previous night), I always seem to have leaks up top, and have to fiddle with it to get it to stop. Then I move my head around to see if there will be leaks, and i routinely get small leaks around the bottom corners of my nose (like the bottom corner parts of the mask), which take what seems like forever to eliminate. Is there an easy way to get this darn thing adjusted? I find that I also get leaks during the night depending on how I move (though this may be due to a headgear issue)
I have the headgear straps pretty darn loose; last night I tried completely loosening everything and let the mask inflate before adjusting the straps, so I don't think they are too tight? And is this the right way to adjust the fit -- to leave it totally loose and tighten after the air pressure is on? Also, the darn headgear seems to be designed for someone with a much "longer" head than I have . . . the top strap often comes right off the top of my head and I have to yank it down in the middle of the night. Has anyone made modifications to the headgear that worked well?
The size mask I have is Standard; I can't tell from the literature if the Shallow is smaller or not. And does the same mask frame work for all size mask pillows (as with the ResMed Swift)? I don't really think that the mask cushion size is the problem here unless it is too big -- I compared the cushion size with the cushion on my Respironics Comfort Gel, and the CG cushion is considerably smaller.
I've been using CPAP for about 3 months now, with 100% compliance . . . but some of these issues are still giving me fits!
