 Nasal Pillows
Would anyone recommend a full-face mask? I'm drooling out of my mouth using nasal pillows & I know that means mouth-leaking.

Well since my Hybrid mask isn't really recommended for use with my VPAP Adapt SV, I mean it works, it passes the circuit test but the leak rate is maxed out, so I have tried the ResMed Mirage Liberty, it is recommended for use with my machine, well guess what happens? Yep had the same thing as the Hybrid, those pesky nasal pillows leak like crazy and won't stay in place! But the Good News is my mod fix for the Hybrid mask, works just a Great on the Liberty! And in pretty much the exact same way too! As soon as I get a picture I will post it. I have found this morning that my leak rate is way way down, and my data is quite a bit different, and for the better!

Hi everybody! After 3 months- 3 long months- and 5 masks! I've finally had a great night with the Hybrid! On previous nights I've thought it was leaking- but the mask silicone part was upside down! I found it works with Breeze pillows, but it works best with the Hybrid mask ( on the right way). And it was really successful with the straps when I loosened them.
My scores aren't that marvellous- leakage 0.04, AHI 9.3, AI 1.3, HI 8, USAGE 9.45 Hours, but I am using Resmed Autoscore 11, with and Aussi heated hose. I know I have some way to go but finally feel on the right track! Beauty! I'm from Australia

White beard, a rubberband around the two pillows works if your nostrals are too close together.
I absolutely love the Hybrid but the liberty made my nose sore. I've been trying other masks but keep going back to Hybrid. It's just so easy to breathe with for me.

Diane I have been using the Liberty for a while now and my numbers (AHI and AI and leak rate) are much better with the Liberty than the Hybrid. But as far as comfort goes the Hybrid is still much better! The nasal pillows are much more comfortable, but I can't argue with the data, I even switched back to the Hybrid for a few nights and my AHI went up as did my leak rate! So at least for the time being I guess I will abandoned my Hybrid for the Liberty! But I can definitely see why you keep going back to the Hybrid!

White beard, I have to ask....how does your sling thing work on your Liberty??
Kind of funny, I had be get a new sleep test at the hospital because I've lost 60 lbs and guess what mask they used...
The Hybrid. They said all their newby's were mouth breathers and it seemed to help them stay with it.
What ever it takes, right?
PS, My pressure is the same. Guess I'm a cpaper for life, afterall. I was so sure it would be a lot less. At least I have a comfortable mask.

 Hybrid Mask
I have been using the Hybid FF mask (with a Res Med VPAP) for several months. Overall, best, thus far (but, still a "torture instrument). Now, I have been informed by Sleep RX in Skokie, Ill that the Hybrid mask is no longer available. Has anyone else been given this information, or has Sleep RX merely stopped handling the Hybrid (they seem to be biased to ResMed)?

I havent heard anything about them discontinuing the Hybrid! I hope not.
Ive been messing with mine for a few days and found that if I use the nasal pillows made for the Breeze it leaks less. They fit in the holes fine and they're sturdier.
Just FYI.

I got the same answer from mine. My RT pushed the issue and got me one. I recently bought one online on sale. I don't think they make the profit on this they do on the ResMed.

 Hybrid
I called Innomed and they said the Hybrid is a big favorite. Check to see if they are not just sold out of Hybrid and trying to push the Resmend liberty on you....
I highly recommend the real Hybrid!

 Re: I am so happy!
snorke wrote:This Hybrid mask is the bomb! I started out with the Mirage Swift II for three weeks, then the Mirage Liberty for one week. Could not use the Swift because I found I was a mouth breather (I was losing air through my mouth). The Liberty just didn't fit well - comfortable, but leaked unless I pulled the mask so tight into my face and nose that I had an inprint for 8 hours after taking it off. I then tried the Hybrid. This Hybrid is, in my limited experience, the best fitting, most comfortable ffm I have found. I really like the nose pillows and seperate mouthpiece. No nose sores, no painfull pressure against my face and No leaks! WOW! Only five masks tried and I can't imagine using anything else! Thank you all for your comments about this ffm. It saved me a lot of time and trouble. Very cool!

Hi Snorke, Now that you have used the Hybrid mask for a long time ca you share your experience.

 hybrid ffm
I just tried my new hybrid mask last night...can't tell yet if I like it. Any positive feedback on this mask? Also, used the small nasal pillows & had trouble with the nasal pillows coming out. Any suggestions?

Trying Mirage Liberty Full Face CPAP Mask with Nasal Pillows
Hi everyone! I have not been on this forum for awhile. But I am having troubles again with my Mirage Quatro Full Face Mask, especially with leaks; and I wind up taking the darn thing off because the leaks keep waking me up and I want to get some sleep. I feel very lost again in this whole word of sleep apnea and the hundreds of kinds of masks that are out there. I am a single man, 65, living alone so I don't have a significant other to offer suggestions or...to complain! <G>
I talked to a Critical Care Doctor who did my pre-surgical physical a week or so ago, and she knows alot about sleep apnea. She said that I should just call the Medical Supply Company (is that what you all call a DME???) and ask for a new mask. I went to cpap.com and looked at several masks and inquired about the Mirage Liberty Full Face CPAP Mask with Nasal Pillows. I am a mouth breather as well so I need both. The RT is coming to my apartment on Monday morning to show me how to use the Mirage Liberty FF with Pillows. I am hoping this works better. I am getting nowhere near the number of hours of usage I should be.
Just have been frustrated with the process plus I am also getting ready for a spinal fusion surgery on August 6th. The hospital/nurse said to be sure and bring my CPAP machine and mask to the hospital because they will use it in the recovery room and at night when I am sleeping.
Anyone have experience with this mask? And is it what you call a Hybrid Mask? I appreciate all the help I can get! Thanks so much.
