We're just crawling out from under a storm that hit us Monday. We had gal from Lincoln NE here and she was shocked by how cold it was. She was ready to go back to Lincoln. We were suppose to get freezing rain last night but it warmed up unexpectedly to our normal temps. We still have snow on the ground. I told my wife "If this is what fall is like, I can hardly wait for winter to get here."

My last seven years with the Air Force was spent at Edwards AFB in the Mojave Desert. I kinda like the warm weather like that. A friend and I got promoted to E6 in 86 and we took our wives and drove over to Las Vegas to celebrate our good fortune. This was in August, we were at the Riviera and I believe the temp for the two days we were there was 105+. The blacktop was coming up in a few places. Nice warm days. More envious of you and the nice dry heat.

The temps fell to 6 degrees night before last. If I could send you this cold and snow, I would. I often ask my dh why we live here? We grew up here and it's where our parents are. We have a son in California and when we retire, we may move there too. It all depends on how our parents are doing by then. It would be hard to leave them if they need us. My ideal spot would be in the Pismo, San Louis Obispo area where the temperatures are pretty steady. No more tornados for me, please!

52, we warmed up to 49 here today. We are expecting a low of 38 tonight. Course these are our normal temps for this time of year. That snow storm we got in Nov. was not a normal weather event for us. We normally get a week of snow in Jan. Our normal weather pattern for winter is low's 35 to 40 and highs 45 to 50 during the day. Actually pretty mild for the most part. Lots of rain and cool weather yet to come.

We are getting clobbered here tonight. We have winds gusting to 100+ at the moment. There substained at 55 to 75MPH at this time. Had the power going off and on for the better part of the day. Drove home from work and was dodging fallen trees and limbs. Was alot of fun for 35 miles.

I never had a green Christmas but this year it looks like it might happen  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad
It's raining pretty hard today and the snow we had is disappearing very fast. The long range calls for sun and warm temperatures around 25f to 34f so if anyone has any snow send it this way.

I also have a snowmobile for sale owned by a former sleep apnea sufferer low mileage Laughing  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Zen, I can't believe that there is little snow in your neck of the woods. I'm use to hearing about Ontario, Canda getting snow like crazy this time of the year. Hope you all start seeing the snow up there soon. We got plenty up in our mountains this year. The ski resorts opened up in Nov. with that last storm that came through. I'm not a snow person myself but it's good to see people off skiing that enjoy it.

What is going on here? We have had a really cold fall for us. We are right now down to about 28 and we are not getting much warmer today. Problem is that we still have a large sections of the Oregon and Washington coast without power. This fall has been one of the coldest on record for this area. We are hopefull that things will get back to normal here in the next few days.
