Post Mid-Thread Replies
How can I reply to a message in the middle of a thread?

Restated, if a thread contains 20 messages and I want to reply to message #14, how can I do that? Seems my reply is just tacked on to the end of the thread...

New to the forum, but not to sleep apnea.

You can 'quote' the post you want to address. I open the reply in a new tab(right click and click on open in new tab). When you click on reply you will see just above the dialog box a row of buttons. Click on the quote button, go to the other tab and highlight the post you want to answer, right click and click on cut. Go back to the reply tab and right click, click paste. Then click on quote again. It will look like this;
{quote} what ever you want to quote {/quote} except the {  } will be replaced with [  ]. Then just reply as normal.
This is what everyone else will see;

And you can manually put the {/quote} (stop quoting) after a portion of what you are quoting so you can put a comment in the middle. Don't forget to restart the quote with the  {quote} (start quoting) and remember to use the brackuts instead of the {}.

If you want to quote multiple people, say for example, you want to quote two other comments, then click on the "quote button" on one of the postings and put your comments at the end. Then manually put in the start quote symbol, paste the second person's words and manually put in the stop quote symbol and place your reply to that person after it.

Another hint when manually doing quotes, When you do the start quote, if you put the {quote} (with brackets) as {quote="username"} (with brackets) as in {quote="jpezz"}, then it will show:  jpezz wrote

Try it on a practice reply.
