Post fixes to the Forum and Chat 
Well, if you stopped by over Christmas you were met with an ugly error message.  This was due to a problem that our provider was having with their database server.  In an effort to try to keep the site up, I made some improvements (I think) to speed up things.  

Please let me know if the forum is loading faster for you.  Also, if you use chat, you should notice it running a bit better too.

Mike,

I find that this site is a LOT faster now. Toggling back and forth between posts and forums is almost instantaneous now. It used to be so slow I just gave up sometimes. Thanks a ton for all your hard work.

Glad to hear it!!  So the pain of their servers slowing WAAAY down was worth it...  Sorry I didn't get to it sooner,  it seems a lot snappier to me too.  And chat loads almost immediately now.

Well, I haven't answered because I really didn't know if I noticed any diference.  

I will now go on record that I think it is faster.

Mike, it is definitely faster. It actually looks like it supports broadband and not dial up any more. Haven't seen those DB Error messages either.

Well glad to hear that it is working.  You will notice that if you do not allow web caching that it will slow back down, the magic uses the cache... Very Happy

Mike this site is much faster. The work you put into it has made a big difference. I can remember waiting for the site to come up and then download all the images. Now it just shoots everything at one time. Very well done. Always have the cache on. Clear it out about once a month.
