Sleep Apnea, a poem

Post Sleep Apnea, a poem
The first letter in the first word of each line spells out sleep apnea.  I've seen it done before, and wanted to try it myself.  Hope you all enjoy it.

Something that I don't know much about.
Leaving lots of room for lots of doubt.
Even if I get a good night's rest,
Each morning, I'm still put to the test.

Promising myself that the next night,
An hour earlier, I'll turn out the light.
Praying that I'll sleep the whole night through;
Not believing that wish will come true.

Every time I find myself awake,
Action, I tell myself I'll take.
Sleep eludes me, and when I do find it,
Likely there is wakefulness behind it.

Enough! I say. This simply has to stop!
Exhaustion's all I know; I could just drop!
Pretend to know what rest is? I can not.
And now I realize that some hope I've got.

Perhaps C P A P will be my friend.
No longer will my nights stretch, without end.
Even though I'm scared to wear a mask,
A chance to sleep well is all I ask.

Sleepytime
