Vicky I had to research on all masks that are out there before dotting the is and crossing the ts in my design specification for a universal mask.

Yes you can put a sticky on it but may have to prompt me from time to time to have them updated. As it is I believe many models have been superseded and taken off the shelves. For example I tried to get hold of a Resmed Vista and was told it may not be available anywhere as the mask did not take off

Post Sleep Weaver by Circadiance
Sleep Weaver by Circadiance
I just found out there is another nasal mask by Circadiance called Sleep Weaver.
It is obvious from this that every one knows that there are serious problems with sleep apnea masks as they exist and glad that many are looking for alternative solutions

Post Nit Picks
Comfortgel is written using camel humps: ComfortGel Nasal Mask

Fisher & Paykle is spelled Fisher & Paykel

De Vilbiss is written as one word using camel humps: DeVilbiss

DeVilbiss has another nasal mask called FlexAire

Post ADAM Interface
I suspect that the the ADAM Interface may have been the first nasal pillow system, if not, it sure has been around for a long time. Someone got to calling it Adams Circuit. However, the manufacturer (Puritan Bennett) refers to as it is here ADAM Interface. The cushions used in the Breeze and the ADAM are the same.

This may be my first post in this forum :)  Exactly how are these mask categories defined?  Specifically, what is the difference between Nasal Masks and Nasal Pillows?  I am comparing my preferences for Aeiomed Headrest, and the Respironics Optilife.  Why are they in two different groups?  Is this just the way the companies classify them or there is some accurate definitions?

Nasal Mask is a mask that sits around the nose like the Resmed Mirage Activa for example.
Nasal Pillows are soft silicon nasal inserts that you place against the nostrils

Full face mask is one that supplies air to the nose and mouth simultaneously
Now here is a bit of confusion

A full face mask can have a nasal or a nasal pillow combined with a mask section supplying air to the mouth.

Have a look at Google images for Resmed Liberty and Resmed Quattro to see the difference.
Both are full face masks.

Hope this helps

Ram, to the best of my knowledge the Hybrid was the first nasal pillows/mouth piece combination which is why I usually refer to those types as "hybrid" types rather than as full face masks. That "might" help clarify things, maybe not. It was the easiest way for me to keep them separate in my beady little brain.

On the other hand I tend to lump those masks w/nasal pillows, nasal seals and nasal prongs all as nasal pillows style. Its easier for me to keep 4 mask styles in mind than 6 mask styles.
