I am dissecting my sleep study results. I talked with the Dr for about an hour, discussing everything under the sun. I have "mild" sleep apena, but also have PLMD, which is mild too. - If I have mild on both of these... WHY am I SOOO tired!! - Must be a whimp or something.
Well, I will try to post this as best I can - I have the report in front of me.
Sleep Duration was 302.5 mins --- 5hrs
Sleep onset Delayed - 37.5 mins
REM onset - 166.5 min
Wakefullness after sleep 1 min what in the world does this mean???
Stage N1 51 mins
N2 174 mins
N3 27 mins
Stage R 50.5 min
Sleep efficiency was 79%
Findings
1 apnea and 25 hypoapenas observed
apnea /hypoapena index of 5.2
Respirtory effort arousals 3.2 hr
TTL disturbance 8.3 hr
NREM - indexed at 6.0 events an hour
REM - indexed 1.2 hr
Hypoemia present .02% of sleep with 12 desaturations to an Nadir of 91%
Leg movements totaled 235 indexed at 6.1 hr.
Guessing here... the total disturbances I had in one hour, between 14-15 an hour??? Is that the same as having moderate sleep apnea? How do the two combine to make a bad nights rest???
Also, he said that the study wasn't interperated for some of the time. Does that mean that the scores would be different?? Did they only take a few hours and then average them to get the numbers? Or is that the part he did not go over for diagnosis?
Reading the others on here... I should be feeling fine... but what do I know!!
I go on the 18th to get fitted and stuff, another sleep study too to boot.
The dr told me with the combo of the Limb Disorder and the Sleep Apnea, he thinks the CPAP will help. He also put me on 300mg - 600 mg of Gabapentin (take one, then the next night if one doesn't cut it, take two...)
Thanks for reading this far!! Hope this fixes the "daytime sleepys"
