You are a sleep tech, yet haven't figured out how to access the Clinicians Menu on the S8 Elite yet?

This S8 Elite has "some sort of card in it"?? You're a sleep tech and haven't any idea of what that card is and does?

This forum does NOT allow any of us to advise someone on how to change the therapy settings on their CPAP. But it might have been a little more palatable and believable if you had left out the "sleep tech" information as it is a little hard to swallow given your lack of knowledge about that "some sort of card".

No reputable supplier can set your pressure setting on that S8 Elite unless you have a script for a CPAP stating what pressure setting you should be at.

We'd like to help you out but we can't. We are not medical professionals, we have no way of knowing if you've even been tested for and Dx'd w/OSA and if you haven't been .....

I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound unfriendly nor that you are not welcome but what you've asked is just ouf of the realm of our being able to help.

I'm sorry you felt my comments were unfriendly. They were not meant to be. It is hard NOT to be skeptical about a sleep tech not knowing what that card is for. I take it yours is one of those sleep labs that doesn't have a sleep doctor on staff? After many years of our hospital's sleep lab having one neuro who specialized in sleep and 3 alternating pulmos who specialized in sleep on staff in their sleep lab, they remodled and updated the sleep lab and dropped them from staff and have sub-contracted w/a pulmonologist who never sees the patients, just dictates the results and sends his recommendations to the referring doctor. NOT my idea of a step forward or "progress". They've also dropped on staff anesthesiologists and radiologists and have sub-contracted w/local anesthesiology and radiology groups. Yet another step backward in my opinion.

I'm well aware of the terrible prices one must pay in Canada. They aren't all that palatable in the USA when you consider the price they want for so much of this equipment. Australians have also posted about the horribly high prices they must pay as well. When we see the prices you pay as compared to ours it seems so outrageous!!

The fact of the matter remains - this forum does NOT ALLOW us to tell you how to access the Clinicians Menu and alter the therapy settings. Have you posted for help at any of the sleep tech forums? Or the RT forums? We wish you good luck, please don't  judge the forum harshly by my comments.

i FEEL  SAD  ON UR REAL UNFRIEDLY ATTITUDE ... LET ME TELL YOU  ABOUT  MY  ABILITIES >> I ONLY  DO  CPAP TITRATIONS  ON  PATIENTS  .  WE  USE  OUR  OWN  LAB.  MACHINE  FOR THIS  PUPOSE.... THEN  WE  FILL OUT  A  FORM  WITH  RECOMMENDED PRESSURE  AND  SEND  OUT  TO  HOME CARE COMPANY AND  THEY  SELL AS WELL AS DO ALL KIND OF  WOK ON MACHINE.

TO  LET  U  KNOW  CPAP  MACHINES ARE EXPENSIVE  IN  CANADA  ( 3-4 TIMES THE PRICE IN USA ).

I HOPE  THIS  MIGHT  CHANGE  UR  UNFRIENDLY  ATTITUDE  ABOUT  MY  ABILITY AS  A SLEEP TECH.  HOWEVER IF  YOU  DONT  WANT  TO  HELP , THAN  DONT....

THANKS AGAIN

I have to agree with Chronie Too.

Your post is quite suspicious, and posting guidelines specifically prohibit providing such information.

Chronie Too's response to your post is far from being unfriendly,...........based on your medical position your second post is really unacceptable for a number of reasons, but primarily you are persisting with a request for peole to breach the guidelines.

Daniel.
