Post Medicare coverage changes
Changes in Medicare coverage for CPAP treatment of OSA were posted yesterday at the NGSM website. Two key changes were that they "will allow for coverage of CPAP therapy based upon a positive diagnosis of OSA by home sleep testing", and they no longer require that the diagnosis be moderate or severe.

For more details on policy changes and their definitions of sleep apnea and related terms, follow the links to what's new at their site.

Have they addressed UARS?

I had an actigraphy test completed last Saturday and I wasnt all that impressed. However, it is FDA approved and relatively accurate, so it can be used as a diagnostic tool. Amazing.

In any event, at least those with mild diagnosis shouldnt get hassled now.

In that update they didn't address UARS or CSA. Have they ever addressed either in the past?

I just received an updated booklet from Medicare at work, so I will page through it tomorrow night. If I find anything interesting, then I will paste it. It may be the same info posted online, but much easier to follow.
