And, yup, the lip flutters can disrupt and reduce your therapy every bit as much, even more, than full open mouth breathing. Because, mouth breathing tends to wake you so happens less sporadically than the air slipping quietly thru your lips unnoticed and happening more often thru out the night. In the end, a leak is a leak regardless the cause and too much leak reduces your CPAP therapy.
AND too much leak can actually contribute to aerophagia. These CPAPs can compensate quite well for small leaks, but they respond by raising pressure, the more leak the greater the raise in pressure trying to compensate.
