OK..The Momma's and the Papa's, LuLu...and my most favorite...Cat Stevens. Keep in mind...I am a litle bit younger than you guys, but being the youngest of 5 and the surprise of the family, 6 years after they thought they were all done having kids...I couldn't help but listen to all this...I had no choice. Never listened to Motown...my sister sounds just like Patsy Cline when she sings. Tammy Wynette...is she the one that did "I don't want to play house, because it makes my mommy cry...when ever she played house my Daddy said goodbye"?...or was that Lauretta Lynn? I remember having to do the dusting and my mother had that blasting on the old console style stereo...the thing was bigger than the sofa. How about Arlo Guthrie? My DH grandmother lived just down the street from the "church"...Dh use to go down and peek in the windows and Arlo would run him off. A few years back my DH was volunteering for a historic theatre...now performing arts center and met Arlo...and they recalled those run offs...talked for over an hour. OH...and we 'partied' with Melanie one night...she didn't have a brand new pair of roller skates..and no one had a brand new key.....
Yep, Knockers Up was one of the Rusty Warren albums. Gads, she was a hoot w/o getting really vulgar. Tame by today's standards, I guess, but I find too much of today's "off color" humor just plain vulgar and offensive. Rusty was just hilarious.

The ghost must like the music because it hasn't been back on the machine today, and I haven't done anything different to the machine. I guess it likes the Lettermen and Vogues, and the Chad Mitchell Trio better! I have been listening to them today. I have a CD called Mighty Day The Chad Mitchell Trio Reunion and I think it is great! Sound like you Mrs RVW have rubbed shoulders with some real greats! and yes I do believe Tammy did that song, I have her album some where! along with Ricky Nelson and even the Platters! Heck do you remember when Ricky Nelson was a little guy on TV? with Ozzie and Heriot! I wonder if they had Sleep Apnea?, ( got to keep official)

Ricky Nelson...I remember that! ..... Oh, sorry it was reruns in my day
Official statement....I wonder if they did have SA...
Now...who is The Chad Mitchell Trio? OK DH, is gone for 3 days...I am going to crank the tunes! I get to listen to the Cat as much as I want..I wonder where his music would have been today if he kept sharing his gift with us verses getting weird.
originally the Chad Mitchell Trio had John Denver as a member of it it was before and around the time of the Kingston Trio! I was looking for our Cat Stevens LP, I know we have one, it is from the early or mid 70's it was my wifes, she is a bit younger than me, about 4 years, I am more the 60's generation, as I graduated from HS in 69. But I like all the 50's and early 60's music! So your gone to crank out the tunes the next few days HUH. Sound like fun! I can see it now Mrs RVW Jive-in with her CPAP on! Talk about weird, did you ever hear of London Wayne Wright III Dead Skunk in the middle of the Road? He was real popular in the very early 70's as was Cheech & Chong! I have some of their albums too! Oh by the way I remember watching I Love Lucy when it wasn't reruns! I was pretty small back then, but my folks got there first TV in 1952 or 53 I was just a we li'l one then so I was of the first generation raised on the boob tube! Can't you see Ricky and Lucy walking between their separated twin beds kissing each other good night with just a peck on the cheek and then donning there CPAP mask and waving good night to each other before turning on their machines! That show really broke some ground by showing the bedroom and Lucy was actually pregnant on that show! That was really controversial back then!

I was 10 when You graduated HS. My oldest brother is 14 years older than me..he was out of the house before I could remember too much. My fathers family was Advent Christian and we lived not too far from them..so the TV was always hid in the closet...just in case they came over. I remember quickly having to push down the rabbit ears..unplug it and us kids race it to the closet on it's flimsy cart. Grammie would have had a bird!
I remember Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road..and of course Cheech and Chong....WE have been following Ice Road Truckers and there is a guy on there that I swear is Cheech...I think I have it right..the one who is not dead. I wonder if they would have used a CPAP mask in their Up in Smoke Movie? ...staying on subjet here I really think that the innocense of TV back then should stay that way...we expose too much today...I do not mean just the skin part...but the violence.
The one thing that bothers me the most about my back is having to be careful dancing...I LOVE to dance and was a great dancer during the disco era...OOO OOO! I can still do some moves...with and without the attached hose and mask!
Yep, I remember Topper. And, I"ll be a dirty bird! I remember George Gobel too! I wonder if George had OSA? You think? (Just to keep this on topic). Remember Jo Stafford? You Belong To Me. She just died 16 July. She was 90. Ha! Gotchya beat, WhiteBeard, I graduated 1960.

Then I fall right between a youngster Mrs RVW and a little older youngster CrohnieToo. How do you like that for smooth talking I remember George Gobel, how about "Our Miss Brooks" or December Bride, Queen for a Day, I agree with you Mrs RVW about the programing in allot of ways it was better allot better. Heck on Saturday night on Educational TV they still show Lawerence Welk, and I still watch it! Now I really do think he probably had Sleep Apnea! You know I never did like dancing I just have no sense of rhythm or something I guess I was never co-ordinated enough! I am kind of a klutz I guess I will do a waltz or a slow dance if I have had a few to loosen up!

Oh WhiteBeard..You have been well trained...congrat the wife for me! I remember Our Miss Brooks..and we look forward to Lawrence Welk. We also like the BBC and watching Are You Being Served. You know, I grew up listening to this guy out of Boston...WBZ radio I think..and also think the show was syndicated..it was Larry Glick. DH and I both keep looking to see if we can find any of his old radio shows. He was a nightly staple in our house.
Sounds like you dance like my DH, Whitebeard...we stnads in one place and moves as if he is shoveling sh** ... Manure.
Crohnie..You are young...see... you graduated the year after I was born... *franticly looking for hiding place while holding up cookie sheet as armor*.
Oh, my goshes!!! (Remember the Dondi comic strip?). Are You Being Served? I LOVED that show. And, Waiting For God, another BBC comedy. How I loved Diana! She was my heroine. My idol. I so wanted to be just like her. And Sophia on The Golden Girls. Estelle Getty was just tremendous in that part. Another of my heroines. Both sides of my family are very long-lived. I've always said I'm too mean to die. When I'm 110 I'm gonna sit in my rocking chair on the front porch of the old folks home and hiss at everyone that walks by!
That's the main reason I had to "do" my xPAP therapy, to be sure I'd be around to do that (just to keep this post "honest" and on subject).

What a picture that is!, CrohnieToo at a Hundred ten and sitting and rocking on a porch of an old folks home with her BiPAP mask on and her machine hissing away and the hose underneath the rocker, and every time she rocks forward the hose clamps shut and Hundred and ten year old CronhieToo is waving her arms and gasping for air! And all along everyone just thought she was hissing at them!
I was think about some of the old shows, like Make Room for Daddy, and Father knows Best and Leave it to Beaver, but there was one that had a single father and a butler and a little boy and a slightly older girl named Missy or something, but for the life of me I cant think of the name of the show.
Yes Mrs RVW it sounds like I dance just like your husband. And just what is wrong with shoveling Sh**..Manure I think we need to make a dance that you can do with the CPAP mask on that way you'd have an excuse for not moving around very much!

Hey! I was a GREAT dancer. As were my parents, both of them. They LIVED to dance! And I grew up dancing w/all the old fogies who REALLY knew how to dance. Its pretty much a lost art today. My lungs and hubby's back have cramped our style now days. *sigh* (I have to admit tho, as I lament the loss of GOOD dancing, that I sure did try to talk hubby into line dancing when it first came out). And I LOVED to polka. The happiest music in the world. Who can sit still when a polka is playing? That three step was so VERSATILE! I loved clogging too. Gads! Remember the Sosh (The Social)? Gotta go do my daily download to see what transpired in CPAP land last night (just to keep this post legit).
Hey! Let's go Waltz Across Texas!!!!

WhiteBeard...it was Sissy and Family Affair...I call my oldest sister Siissy due to that show. Then there was Courtship of Eddies Father...singel dad with 1 son.
Crohnie..My DH claims he will live to be 113...so you may be hissing at him since he likes sitting on the front porch and rocking.
My parents were square dancers...I remember when I was about 5 and Pops..our mail man also square danced...My parents took me to one of the dances one night..and Pops caried me all around the floor. Mum made me a little dress to match her dress and Dads shirt.
Ah waiting for God...what a riot...and Are you being served...Mr Humphries!!! Are you free? These are still on our PBS stations.
Is that dancing a Michigan thing? I got an Uncle and Aunt that live in Michigan and they had a mess of kids, seven of them and that was always their big thing was to go to dances, they used to have New Years Eve Parties on there farm and all they did was dance, and drink home made Apple Jack! They were into that Square Dancing mostly! It is funny because several of my cousins that still live up there have Sleep Apnea, really!
Mrs RVW Your right her name was Sissy, but do you think I could remember the name of that show, I could remember some of the people. Anyway that was a pretty good show! They really don't make them like that any more. In fact I wish they would come back with the musical variety shows, like Perry Como and Dina Shore, and of course Ed Sullivan, I liked those shows, and what do we have now?

Whitebeard, my M I L had a machine just like yours and it would turn itself on whenever the door to her room was opened. The pressure sensor was WAY too sensitive and just the little surge of pressure from a door opening would trigger it. I can see where an A/C unit would likely trigger it, too. They "fixed" hers by disabling the auto-on feature.
