I have a Resmed Mirage Micro Nasal Mask.   I have prevented rainouts by covering the tube.    Latest problem I have is what appears to be condensation buildup near the pressure relief in front of mask.     At beginning very quiet however during the night I wake up ( always have ) and have troubles getting back to sleep because of the sounds from the mask.   I tried turning down the water to 2 hwever wake up with extremely dry mouth and I am not a mouth breather or so I was told.   If I kick up the humidity end up waking up with the noise in mask.    I generally have to ditch the mask and attempt to use nasal pillows when this happens.    

Could this be a machine issue?   seems like it behaves differently since it got flipped over with water inside a few months back

I just got off the phone with my DME looking for suggestions on "rain out".The DME said it is a common problem this time of year when windows are closed and the heat comes on. I have followed all the previous suggestions and still get water in my mask. You can cover your hose, put the hose under the covers but there is no way to cover your mask to keep it warm.
It was suggested I keep trying to find a comfort point between dryness and rain out. It might get better when we turn the heat on in our bedroom.

Well I keep trying to find comfort between dry and wet, on my machine 2 is to dry and 3 is to wet, the real issue is the moisture that builds in the mask.   Last night it didnt bother me since I took an ambien to get some rest but when I wok up my face was covered in condensation.    Its been cold out and not running heat so about 66 degrees in the house but hose is wrapped up.    I would love to find a solution that works I am getting desperate.

Your problem might just resolve itself when it is cold enough outside that you turn on the heat inside the house.  I know that noise in the mask. I get it if I have cleaned the hose and try to use it before it is completely dry.  You might try a cover for your hose in the meantime.

It also may depend on the type of machine you have?  Others on here who have your type of machine may have a better idea on what will help you.

The hose is covered wife made a nice fleece sleeve for it some time back.   The noise really only bothers me well into the night if I wake up  hard to get back to sleep with mask on.   Sometimes I try the pillows or just pull it off for last few hours ( I know not a good thing but with the noise hard to fall back to sleep for a few hours ).  I may try going back to an old mask this one is about 1 month old my insurance will replace them relatively often so the old one I used from april till august

Some masks seem to be more prone to this than others. And it is definitely connected to the chilly bedroom. That noise IS really annoying!

When it happens to me, I just take the mask off (without disconnecting it), shake it over the edge of the bed, pat it once or twice on the side of the bed, and put it back on. This takes less than 30 seconds. The amount of water that comes out is about 1/2 a teaspoonfull -- certainly not enough to worry about shaking onto the floor. The edge of the mask gets a couple of drops of water on it -- that's why I dab it off on the edge of the mattress. I'm off to sleep again within a minute of waking and realizing the problem.
