 Rain out in mask only
I am having a problem with rain out in my mask. I have the hose covered so it does not get rain out. My room is around 65 degrees and my humidifier is set at 2. Any suggestions? I feel like I need more humidity now that the weather has changed but when I increase it just one notch I get water in my mask.

Your hose cover may not be keeping the air in the hose warm enough. Try taking your hose under the blankets w/you or hanging your hose above your head. Your CPAP should also be set on a level below the level of your mattress.

Hose is under the covers and the CPAP is on the floor. I am at a loss as to how to keep the mask warm except for setting the room temp to 70! Now that is not going to happen. I would go broke paying the oil bill. LOL

Perhaps a warmer hose cover? Resmed's Tube Buddy or Hose Buddy, I forget which, is a quilted slippery fabric and looks like it should really be a good one.
And you can always consider buying the Aussie Heated Hose. Tracy at talkaboutsleep recently posted about something that sounds much like a heat tape for plumbing pipes that some are using.

Why not try the cpap machine on a table top. The air temperature at the floor is going to be 5-10 degrees colder, which might keep your hose from heating up as much as it might. (also, it is a lot dustier down there)

thank you for all the suggestions...I am going to try pre heating the system before I put it on to see it that helps.
Last night my hose was nice and warm as it was wrapped in the ResMed cover and under my covers. The temperature in my room was about 66 but the mask was wet by 5am this morning and woke me up because the dripping water broke my seal. BTW I had no water in the hose...just my mask.

I have the same problem Webbie73 so let me know if you find a cure for the drippy mask. The hose doesn't have any water in it but the mask will drip on my face.

Could the water in the mask be sweat or nose drippings??

This is my problem too - I still haven't figured it out.
Everything is lagged, no condensation in the tubes, just my nasal pillow.
I roll over and the water runs into my nose - not nice.
Should I just move to Hawaii?

This is driving me nuts! I have turned the humidifier completely off and just let the air pass over the cold water and still get condensation in the mask. If anyone resolves this I will be forever in your debt. I will keep experimenting and will post what I come up with.

Spoke to my DME on Saturday (briefly, cos he was on a teleconference). He said to reduce the amount of water in the humidifier (no idea how that would work), increase the temperature in the room (trying to control the heating budget is not consistent with that), and/or pay $10 and buy a hose cover. I did the last, and made sure that I was not filling up the humidifier even to the mark. Seems to help. Maybe an engineer on the board can explain that one without getting too technical?

I had rain out in my mask a few nights ago. Dialed down the humidifier a bit. No rain out since.
