John (20 year user on 4th machine) reports that his cpap appears to be malfunctioning. It seems to go to MAXimum pressure without regard to inhalation or exhalation during the night. If he restarts it, it seems to function fine for a while. Last night it did it twice.
What would cause it to do that? Can a DME fix it short of replacing it?
If they don't fix it, what cpap machine is currently the top of the line? Our insurance will pay.

Dianne I had a Respironics M BiPAP that did that too and they sent it back to be fixed and it was supposed to have been fixed but it still did it and they had to replace it! That was two years ago! The machine would also just stop and but if you turned it off and back on it would be alright for a while! Looks like they still might have a problem with it! Good Luck White Beard

It took the DME, Apria, more than 24 hours to respond with a loaner cpap. (We called at 9 AM yesterday.)
We called again TODAY, and they indicated that they were still looking for a loaner. After lunch they told us to bring the cpap in for REPAIR. When we took it to them the girl at the desk indicated they had several Respironic M's that were there for repair of the same problem. She indicated it would be several WEEKS until the repaired cpap was returned.
I'm disgusted that they didn't have a loaner for last night. Luckily we kept an OLD cpap and found internet instructions to set it at a 12. Otherwise we would've been up the creek w/o a cpap.
Looking for a new DME...
