Post Changing tubing
I have a mirage micro. It's really driving me nuts (forehead). I want to switch to my nose pillow, but I find that the tubing doesn't fit! I may have thrown away the nose pillow tubing when I switched to the mirage micro.

Any ideas???

The problem with my mirage is the indentation it's leaving across the top of my forehead. It's still there from last night and it's been 8 hours since I removed it! Maybe I can pad my forehead or something???

Tubing is a standard size for all machines. There should be a 'link' between tube and pillows.

Leaving an indentation with the micro mask means that you either have the straps too tight or the forehead pads pushed too far back onto your forehead.

The micro (I use it) must be kept loosish rather than taut. It is the airflow from your XPAP machine that inflates the cushion to give the seal. Forehead pads are for stabilisation to give more comfort. They are not designed to be really tight on your forehead. It is really 'trial and error'..........but once fitted correctly I think it is a very good mask (IMHO).

Daniel.

I prefer my micro mirage, I just hate the forehead indents. I'll try loosening it tonight. The tubing fits the machine perfectly. It just doesn't fit to the pillow tube attachment. It would be nice to alternate every now and then. The nose pillows hurt my nose (have had two surgeries for a break) so the pressure of the nose pillows hurt. I still would like to get a tubing that fits. I wish I had been smarter and kept the hose when the new hose and mask arrived.

I'll try and loosen it and see how it is in the a.m. Sometimes my hair causes tightness - if its straight, then the straps are tighter, if curly and fluffy, then it may make the strap too tight.

I'll play with it.

Gee Gin, I wish I had enough hair for it to make a difference! Seriously though, watch your headgear straps. As they age, the stretch goes away and overtightening is common. I don't always need a new mask, but I do need the straps. I think they should give you 2 sets of straps with a new mask.

Loosening the straps seems like a good idea. Also make sure the pad and the skin has no oil on them.
