Post tape recording can help 
If you think you may have sleep apnea or a sleep disorder and sleep alone it sometimes helps to tape record your sleep, and listen for heavy snoring with gaps, there neednt be long gaps with no snoring or breathing as sometimes the apneas or blockages can happen on about every 5th breath

it can help to play it back to the GP if asking about getting an overnight sleep study

An excellent suggestion Lynn.

My wife taped me many years ago after I fell asleep while minding our very young children..........it still frightens me. Like an animal grunting........ugh !!!!!
