Ok.. Just spent the night with my gf for one of the first times the day b4 yesterday and she noticed this weird thing which kinda freaked her out. She wakes up easily and noticed that every once in awhile I would stop breathing, then she'd nudge me and I'd start to again. I never wake up when this happens, either at home when sleeping alone or with her, so it doesn't seem like a very severe case.. but then I again I hardly know anything about it. Oh, and on the way back from the camping trip I kept dozing off and waking up gasping for air, but i've never had that happen since then or before... it seemed to only happen that one time when is started to snore?

Also, to further complicate this, I've had a sore jaw/throat and difficulty swallowing .. is there a possibility this is related? I've been thinking its from going overboard one night and smoking/drinking to much, then again right after the sore throat started, but I'm not sure..

You can check the FAQs on the front page of the site to see if you have some of the other symptoms, but having witnessed apneas is pretty much a smoking gun, best to see a doctor and get tested, about the only thing that remains is to determine the severity, could be anythng from mild, no treatment necessary, to very severe, need to start treatment right away.  Smoking and drinking make sleep apnea worse.  Write back if you have any questions.
