Ever try and find a motherboard for just a two year old system? I thought it would be pretty easy. Boy was I wrong. My wife's system died and I needed a new motherboard for her system. I only built it two years ago. I need to stay with the same type of board but boy was it murder calling around trying to find one. I think I got a line on one on Ebay but you know how that can turn around. May need to just upgrade the whole system. Was hoping not to do that for awhile but may not have a choice in this.

At one time I let my kids gut a System 36 IBM so I could turn it in to a wet bar.  It had two 75mb (yes MB) hard drives that weighed about 40 pounds each.  The kids couldn't lift them out by themselves.
You forgot my favorite, the TI 99-4A
And I still have a copy of Windows 1.0 (on Tape!) somewhere around here.
Yup, formerly a Net Admin, now I healed my ulcers and I'm working on the sleeping by selling stuff on eBay for other people.

I think what Will said about Radio Shack and the TRS-80 get the TI-99. Radio Shack use to have an interesting approach to their systems.

I had to build a new computer as the old desktop I had up died on me finally. Thank goodnew for backups. It had been so long since I had built a computer I had only an old 32 bit processor. My new one has the AMD 64 bit processor in it. I was wondering if anyone was running either Window XP64, Windows Vista64, or a flavor of Linux that is 64 bit. What do you think of the 64 bit software and is it any faster than the 32 bit?
