Post How do I interpret cpap useage data?
I'm a 6 night cpap user, trying to understand the limited useage data provided by my PB 420G. It shows 49 hours on the hour meter ("device operating time") and 41 hours on the compliance meter ("time during which the patient has breathed with the device").

Since I'm still alive (and feeling much more rested), I don't understand the 8 hour differential. Could this be attributed to times when my mask leaked (and, at least once, the cpap pressure was also intermittent)? I know the differential was greatest the night I tried, with only partial success, to tame my Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask. Nights I used my Swift Pillow had a smaller time difference.

The numbers change every day.  As I recall, the machine started with only one hour of use.

To the best of my knowledge the data is recorded while the machine is fully operational and works on a type of feedback basis. This is worked from the exhalation, which is the only way it can know if you are using the machine, not just having it turned on. If you were adjusting your mask, checking if the ramp feature worked, without wearing the mask it would not count as compliant.

Daniel.
